- Documentation for Fireworks Application
- Version 1.01
- June 26, 1990
- ----------------------------------------
-
- This program was written by myself as a diversion from the normal systems
- level programming which I do. It is based on algorithms originally
- distributed in a public domain program for IBM video adapters that was
- written by Dennis Lo and modified by Erik Liljencrantz. I give them the
- credit for the original idea and base algorithm. I take the credit for
- porting the program to the MS Windows environment with many changes.
-
- This modified program is now (C) Copyright 1990, by Geoffrey Shapiro. It
- is formally introduced into the public domain in binary form and it may
- be freely distributed as such as long as this readme file is also distributed
- so that the original authors and myself get the credit.
-
- Firework requires Microsoft Windows Version 3.00. It runs best in the
- protected modes of Windows 3.00 since it eats up lots of memory because
- of the bitmaps that it allocates. It also runs best in moderate size windows
- or iconized, once again because larger bitmaps tend to be slower to display.
-
- Operation of the program is fairly self-explanatory. There is no menu bar
- for the Firework window but the main menus can be gotten to either through
- the system menu or by a left button down on the mouse when the cursor is
- in the Firework window, or by the F2 function key. There is the capability
- to save the current Firework window image to the clipboard, freeze the
- current fireworks display, and to define new fireworks explosion shapes.
- Just play with the menus.
-
- When iconized, Fireworks displays the explosions in the icon window.
-
- There is no online help yet, but utilization of the Windows WinHelp
- facility is planned in an update. You're on your own for now.
-
- Changes in Version 1.01 from Version 1.00
- -----------------------------------------
- - A DONE and CANCEL button in the Define New Firework Shape dialog box.
- - Display of current firework file in the Define New Firework Shape
- dialog box.
- - Demo of new firework shape from the Define New Firework Shape dialog
- box is no longer controlled by a timer. It is of indefinite length
- until the "Stop Demo" button is pressed.
